Shutterstock was the first Micro Stock agency I joined and the hardest to get images approved on by far. On the plus side, it's also the site where I've sold the most images so their strict selection criteria does seem to work.
The most popular images :-
Dreamstime have a very strange website at first glance but once you get used to it, it's really straightforward. In my opinion, they have the second strictest selection criteria. However, it doesn't take long to get up-to-speed with what each agency will accept or reject.

CanStockPhoto are fairly typical; not as picky but still maintaining a high standard for the images they will accept.
Stockxpert will approve or reject your photos before you add a description or keywords which can save you a lot of time. Their website also takes some getting used to but again, it's only a matter of time and effort. My photos get a lot of exposure from this website and sales have really started to happen this year.
Fotolia and BigStockPhoto. Again these 2 are neither the best or the worst.
I use Flickr for photos that have no real commercial value.
